Would you agree that many of us would say: "It’s hard to find a real friend".
One late afternoon I took a walk on the beach and had a chat
with a young man walking the dog.
You know what he said? “The dog is my best friend.” Why is this?
We all need friends, but most of all we need people as friends.
To have a friend, first we must be one.

What are the marks of a true friend?

Real friendship involves face to face honesty.
The greatest evidence of genuine friendship is,
loyalty, a helping hand, forgiveness, a listening ear, encouragement,
giving, compassion, trust, comforting, and to be loving at all times!
Friendship is valuable, because through friendship we can receive love and support,
even criticism that will help us grow in character.
If you would like to have a real friend, think of someone who needs this kind of love today.
Give all the love you can and then try to give a little more.
That person doesn't have to be perfect, gifted or powerful.
Your new friend can be imperfect, not gifted and maybe poor.
Every soul that walks the earth has a heart, feelings and value.

How blessed is the man who finds a good friend.
How blessed is the woman who finds a good friend.
How good it is, to have many friends!

How do we find a good friend?
|
Well, first we call up two sisters to go with us.
One is called Freedom, the other is Responsibility.
Freedom picks a friend but Responsibility makes sure it’s a sound one.
When we open our heart to a stranger, we are trying to build trust.
With trust, intimacy develops. And we do that without any selfish ambitions.
Everyone likes to be loved. And friends could be loving friends.
To make sure you find a loving friend, think a little, pray a little.
Make a wise selection.
You don’t want a shallow casual acquaintance.
You want a real friend, a companion.
Because true friend sticks closer then a brother…Prov.18:24
A good and true friend forgives…Prov.17:9
Friends can sharpen one’s thinking with good counsel…Prov.27:17 28:23
When we love each other, we then show love towards God.

A new friend!

Communication is the key to a new friend.
Without real communication nothing develops.
The next thing required is a common ground, perhaps the same hobby.
How about encouragement, acceptance and love.
A good friend will not gossip but will keep everything in confidence.
A good friend will laugh with you and cry with you.
A good friend will not hurt you.
A good friend will always help you, build you up, share things with you,
believe in you, understand you and trust you.
A good friend forgives. One that forgives is one that loves.
Go and make a new friend, enjoy life.
